NGC 7727 is a rarely imaged Peculiar Galaxy in Aquarius, a very fascinating and challenging to process DSO.
This is a late-stage merger galaxy NGC 7727 and features two unequal tidal tails, various bluish arcs and star clusters, and two bright nuclei which are strikingly different. The primary nucleus, hereafter Nucleus 1, fits smoothly into the central luminosity profile of the galaxy. In contrast, Nucleus 2 is very compact, and exhibits signs of recent activity.
Thank you Mike Selby for the data from your observatory in Chile for this amazing object and your help to process it. Processed in Pixinsight, Maxim and Photoshop.
